Martin Sexton Presents New Camelot, Same As The Old Camelot

In this exhibition Martin Sexton collapses the narrative of British mythologies from both the past and present; some familiar, some new – informing us by proxy that: ‘culture is your operating system’.

Martin Sexton presents us with a series of works that incorporate sound, film & sculpture and range from a testament from Boudicca to “burn it down and start again”, to a Round Table whose ‘Knights’ include some notable visionaries from our cultural past as well as surprising provocations from our present, to a work that literally turns ‘ON’ Stonehenge, and a sword buried in a 4.5 billion year old meteorite.

‘New Camelot, Same as the Old Camelot’ is heavily infused with current politics, but the artist is also reminding us that myths are permanent, as they deal with the greatest of all problems: love, war, tyranny, courage and fate.
